Savannah and Buddy

We have three animals.  Two black cats and a grey/white husky.  These are older animals, cats are about 14 years old and dog is 10 and 1/2.  When Savannah came along it was interesting to see how they would react.  Kiki ignores, but tolerates her, Connor, well he is having a hard time but we are working on it, but Buddy...Buddy found true love with Savannah.

We are not sure why he likes her so much, as you see below she literally chews him up.  He loves to cuddle with her on her changing table, will sleep in her room at night until we go to bed, and he doesn't seem to mind when she grabs two fistfuls of hair and pulls him to her.  He likes her so much that the mama is fearful that he will stop cuddling with the mama at night and opt for Savannah instead when she goes to her "big girl" bed in a couple years.

(Please note that we do not force Buddy to endure this torture, while we are teaching Savannah to be gentle, at some point we just tell the cat that if he is doesn't like what she does to him he just needs to move away from her.)

Yes, she chews on the cat's tail.  Little cat hair never hurt anyone.

I wish pictures had sound, she squeals with delight when she see Buddy.

(Early) Happy St. Patrick's Day

Savannah and I took a walk today, passing by the green fountain in Daley Plaza.  I snapped a few pictures of her.

A cold, but good sport

Fun with her cousin and grandparents

Savannah had a great weekend at the lake with her cousin, and grandma and grandpa Stern.  And, her mama who got a new camera lens had fun documenting it all in pictures.
Savannah and Drew playing

More playing, Savannah had such a great time with her cousin
Drew was a lot faster with his crawling, so Savannah was playing catch up to him a lot this weekend.  It did help to improve her crawling.
Bubble fun!
Hooray for grandparents!
Savannah tried and loved pieces of banana this weekend
We are biased, but this girl is amazing - fun, happy and beautiful.
And such kissable cheeks

Oh the times are a changin

For almost a week Savannah has been battling a cold.  In addition to the cold, her two front teeth decided to make their move last weekend.  Add on a new found love of crawling on all fours, and you have not only a very big week/weekend, but a very tired baby that is not feeling good or eating well.  I think we turned a corner last night, she was up an hour earlier than normal (I made her stay in bed until it was time to get up in my opinion...I know mean, mean mama), but no more hour long hysterical crying spells in the middle of the night (poor baby!).

And turning a corner could not have happened on a better day.  For my birthday I got kisses and squeals from the cutest little girl with crazy morning hair and a face full of dried snot.  Last year I was on a beach in Puerto Rico, and the years before that Jon and I would meet up with friends at local bars, to celebrate my birthday; but, none of those past birthdays can compare to few minutes this morning with a snot encrusted, smiling Savannah.  Wow, has life changed!
