Visit with Joe
Savannah and I spent the afternoon visiting a friend's 1 week old baby boy, Joe. We had a great time. Enjoy the baby cuteness!

Sleep sack drama
Did you know that in order to wean Savannah from a swaddle at 4 months we had to sew up the arms of a sleep sack and use that instead. Imagine a sleeping bag that zips up around your neck, that is how this child sleeps.
We decided that at 8 months she should be used to the fact she has arms and should be able to sleep with said arms. Last night we went cold turkey. Pulled out a sleep sack that didn't have the arm holes sewn shut and put her in that for bed. Big fail!
She fell asleep for an hour, then woke up hysterical. I found her in her bed doing what looked like a push up and screaming. I rocked her back to sleep (which is a big no-no in our house under usual circumstances). I left the room, only to hear a hysterical baby not 5 minutes later.
Our experiment was over. I put her back in the armless sleep sack, got her calmed down - which took almost 20 minutes. I think she could not understand why we would do such an awful thing and make her sleep with her arms out.
Moral of the story, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
My child will be the one at slumber parties in middle school in the sleep sack.

Lovebug
Well, the mama was traveling on Valentine's Day so she didn't have an opportunity to write a post. So, hopefully you can settle for one that is a day late. I am posting a sweet picture a few hours after Savannah was born (I like to throw those pictures in when I can) and two photos that her dad took for her mama while she was traveling.
We love you so much Savannah, aka lovebug, aka baby girl, aka sweetness.

This girl loves to shop
We ran a bunch of errands this weekend and it was the first time we allowed her to sit in the carts, instead of staying in her car seat. As you can see, she loved the new freedom and is very proud of her 'big girl' status.
